About Us and Our Charities

The Moorsel Volksfeesten is organised every year for the benefit of charity. You can then enjoy a wide range of activities, good food and Moorsel beer brewed especially for the party! And now  you can work up and appetite and a thirst with our run.

By subscribing to the run you will also be helping some great charities…

Vogelopvangcentrum Malderen

The Vogelopvangcentrum is a non-profit association (NPO), known as the Bird and Wildlife Rescue Centre, and are responsible for the care of wild animals in distress.

In their centre, the animals receive the necessary care before being released back into the wild, which they do as soon as possible after rehabilitation. They strive to ensure that all our birds are fitted with a 'scientific' ring before their release, thereby creating the opportunity to follow their further journey. For example, a long-eared owl found in Mechelen was ringed after rehabilitation and recaptured in Latvia after a while.

Their rescue centre does great work and is currently responsible for the care and shelter of approximately 5,000 wild animals per year. 63% of the animals brought in fully rehabilitate and are returned to the wild.

The Bucketlist

The Bucket List believes that dreams have the power to bring light into the darkest times. Their mission is to make the bucket list come true for children and young people aged 3 to 21 who are in the final stages of their lives. They understand that during these difficult moments, there is a need for something that brings joy and creates lasting memories. That is why they dedicate themselves heart and soul to providing these children and their families with unforgettable experiences.

Every child deserves to be at the centre of a beautiful moment, and they are here to make those moments possible. Through the power of community and involvement, they create not only joyful memories but also a lasting impact on the lives of these children and their families.

Parochiezaal VZW

It has been in the news that a lot of village halls in Flanders are
in danger of closing down due to lack of funding. Thanks to Parochiezaal
VZW not in Moorsel!

Many local services are disappearing in villages (for example post
offices, shops, banks) and the village halls are essential to village life. In
Moorsel the Parochiezaal is used by organisations for social and
community events and activities, bringing people together within the
village, and we want to make sure that this can continue well into the
future.
